
Oxford, Ga. - After a few tough games, the Emory Oxford men's basketball team got a win against visiting West Academy 89-65.
The Eagles started out slowly and found themselves down 24-19 midway through the first half. A few minutes later after a steal from first-year Adeniyi Ogunlana that led to a three-pointer from first-year Jason Kim to take the lead, Emory Oxford took off and held a lead for the rest of the game.
Emory Oxford led 45-32 at the half. The biggest lead the Eagles held was 28 points toward the end of the second half.
Four Eagles had double digit points. Kim led both teams with 17 points. He also had seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. First-year Leo Etah had 16 points with eight rebounds and five assists while classmate Ved Desai added 15 points and seven rebounds. First-year Sam Chin and sophomore Michael Hoppner each added nine points.
Emory Oxford is now 9-13 this season.
The Eagles play again at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 against Georgia Christian College. Game time is 7 p.m.
