Lady Greyhounds Come Up Short In Harrison

ASU Mid-South was short handed heading to Harrison to face the Lady Pioneers of North Arkansas, but it didn't stop the ladies from getting out and competing their best. It was a high scoring first quarter as North Arkansas would take a slim 3 point advantage after 1 leading ASU Mid-South 22-19. As the 2nd quarter started, the Lady Pioneers would keep their hot scoring alive as they would continue to outscore ASU Mid-South 17-11, taking a 39-30 lead into the half.
As both teams made their way out of the locker rooms, the 3rd quarter would start out just like the 1st. Both teams were getting after it in another high scoring quarter, but it was North Arkansas who would continue to stretch the lead to double digits outscoring the Lady Greyhounds 18-15. Down 12 heading into the 4th quarter, the Lady Greyhounds were looking to make an epic comeback to earn their first win on the season. Although, they gave it everything they had, ASU Mid-South just ran out of gas late falling to the Lady Pioneers 71-57.
North Arkansas was led by Keely Blanchards' 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Kyndal Rooks joined Blanchard in the 20 point club adding 21.
ASU Mid-South was led by freshman Lula-Jae Tranfaglia with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. London Robinson with 16, and Sage Singleton with 8. Richara Cooper and Charalyn Rester both finished with 7.
With the loss, the Lady Greyhounds drop to 0-9 on the year and 0-1 in Region 2 play. The Lady Greyhounds game on Monday, December 9 against PCCUA has been cancelled. Their next game will be on Thursday, December 12 as the welcome Southeast Arkansas. Tip-off is set for 5:30.
