In the second half, Pensacola's efforts to close the gap were met with strong resistance from the Buccaneers, who extended their lead to 50-28 by the end of the third quarter. Although the Pirates managed to score six of the final eight points in the third, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
Pensacola State's shooting woes continued throughout the game, hitting just 25% from the field. Despite their struggles, the Pirates fought hard, but ultimately couldn't match the Buccaneers' efficiency and rebounding prowess.
