Phoenix College struck with three unearned runs in the top of the second inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues by GateWay to take a 3-2 lead. However, GateWay responded immediately, scoring two runs in the bottom half thanks to a triple by Andrew Hunt and a single by Jeter Mauzey. The offense struck again in the fourth and fifth innings, with Mauzey and Austin Mallee delivering clutch RBI hits. The game started quickly for GateWay as they plated two runs in the top of the first inning, setting the tone for the day. Their offense exploded in the fifth inning, scoring seven runs, and the team kept piling on, showcasing their depth and consistency. Andrew Hunt led the way with two hits and two runs, while Nick Mazzola contributed significantly with a pair of hits, three runs scored, and an RBI.
