Lady Bobcats Fantastic Season Comes to a Close in Conference Semifinals

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats dropped a 4-1 decision to Cleveland CC in round one of the conference tournament.

Cleveland struck in the third with a three-run double by Sayge Strange, and the Bobcats were limited to just two hits in the game. Berry Rosychuk drove in the lone run, going 1-for-3 at the plate, while Kiara Selby added the only other hit. Alyssa Legault and Tanisha Halvorson each drew two walks to lead the team in free passes.

Hilary Stevenson went the distance in the circle, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits, while striking out two. Despite the loss, the Bobcats played clean defensively, committing no errors and turning one double play. Maleia Truelove led the way in the field with seven putouts.

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats dominated Wake Tech CC in a 9-0 shutout victory in the elimination round.

The Bobcats struck early with two runs in the first and followed with a four-run second inning, highlighted by RBI contributions from Ariellah Layton, Vivia Ma, Kiara Selby, and Aurora Kennedy. Layton added a run-scoring double in the third to extend the lead to 7-0, and the Bobcats continued to pressure offensively and on the base paths.

Jada Kezema was lights-out in the circle, tossing five hitless innings while striking out four and walking just one. Kiara Selby led the offense with a 2-for-2 performance, while Layton and Berry Rosychuk each drove in two runs. The Bobcats were aggressive on the bases, collecting 10 stolen bags, and flawless in the field, committing no errors. Maleia Truelove anchored the defense with six putouts.

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats earned a 7-3 win over Pitt CC moving them back in position for a conference championship birth.

Jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. Tanisha Halvorson and Maleia Truelove each brought in a run in the first, with a passed ball and more timely hitting pushing the lead to 6-0 by the third inning. Berry Rosychuk, Aurora Kennedy, and Truelove each recorded RBIs to pace the Bobcat offense.

The Bobcats were aggressive on the bases, swiping eight bags—led by Kennedy and Halvorson—and disciplined at the plate with five walks. Truelove led the team with two hits and helped turn one of three Bobcat double plays in a clean defensive performance.

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats were unable to slow down Cleveland CC on Saturday, falling 11-2 in the conference semifinal.

The Yetis struck early with a three-run homer and continued to add pressure with a five-run third inning. The Bobcats got RBI contributions from Kiara Selby and Tanisha Halvorson, but couldn't mount a comeback against the Cleveland offense.

Jada Kezema took the loss in the circle, while Cleveland's Christian Beaver limited the Bobcats to just four hits over five innings. Despite the setback, Selby and Halvorson remained consistent at the plate, combining for both of the team's runs. The Bobcats closed out the weekend having totaled 19 stolen bases, five double plays, and error-free defense in three of their four games, highlighting their hustle and defensive discipline.

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats have wrapped up a fantastic 2024 season, building on last year's success with the program's first-ever back-to-back 30+ win campaigns. Highlighted by a remarkable 16-game win streak, the Bobcats continued to raise the bar with their consistency, grit, and growth throughout the year.
