(March 6, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - Coming off a pair of wins on Monday at Fort Scott, the ladies wanted to keep their momentum going with a region doubleheader against Southeast Arkansas College. The ladies took both non-region contest last season over the Sharks. SEARK joins Region 2 after their probation season last year.
It was all Bucks on the day as the ladies won both games: 23-0 and 28-1. Both games ended in 5-innings.
The Bucks scored their 51 runs on the day on 41 hits, including 18 extra base hits. This included 9 doubles, 3 triples, and 6 home runs. The home runs were of both varieties: in-the-park and out-of the park. Jaliyah Simmons (Muskogee, OK) led the charge with 3 on the day (2 out-of-the-park & 1 in-the-park). This moves her season total to 10 through 21 games. Lindsey Smyth (Mansfield, TX) hit one into the left field bullpen, while Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) and Emma Reynolds (Cayuga, TX) both hit in-the-park home runs.
The ladies recorded 45 RBIs in the doubleheader. Simmons led the way with 8 on the day, followed by Collins with 7, Reynolds with 5, and a trio of ladies with 4: Smyth, Brenli Baker (Enid, OK), and Olivia Tefft (Frisco, TX).
Other offensive stats worth mentioning is 11 walks on the day and a hit-by-pitch for Kamryn Uher (Prairie Grove, AR). Her season tally is now at 8. The season and career record is 12. Uher was hit 3 times last season, so she needs 1 to tie the career record with majority of the season still ahead for the Bucks. Kyson Vap (Newkirk, OK) went to the plate 8 times on the day, but only recorded 3 official at-bats with a team leading 5 walks against the Sharks.
In the circle, Hayden White (Red Oak, OK) recorded her fourth win of the season. White (4-0, 2 saves) pitched 4.0 innings, giving up only 1 hit and struck out 5 in the outing. Holly Raney (Mayflower, AR) got her fourth win in 3.0 innings of run. (Raney (4-3) gave up an unearned run on 2 hits and struck out 3 in the second game.
The Bucks are now 15-6 on the season. More importantly, the ladies are 4-0 in region play.
The ladies will have the weekend off from games before traveling on Monday to NJCAA DI ranked Seminole State College. The Bucks return to region play next Thursday at SAU Tech in Camden.
