Potomac State kicked-off the 2024 season with a 92-82 win at home against the visiting Penn Highlands Black Bears. The Catamounts start the season 1-0 heading into the ACM Personal Best Classic next weekend.
The first half was very much back and forth action from both teams with several lead changes, but Potomac State would close the half strong taking a 44-35 lead into the break. The Catamounts started hot the second half and would eventually take their largest lead of the night, 63-44 with just under fifteen minutes left in the game. The Black Bears would eventually cut into Potomac State's lead but even then The Catamounts answered right back.
Eugene Bryant led the way for the Catamounts with 27 points, 7 boards, and going 10-10 from free throw line. Andre Grant added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Three other Catamounts also scored double digits: Camren Wilkes (14), Damien Thompson (10), and Daniel Charlot (10).
Potomac State will be back in action Sat. Nov 9 and Sun. Nov 10 for the ACM Personal Best Classic where they will take on SUNY Niagara and Allegany College of Maryland. Games times are set for 3pm and 6pm at ACM.
