Northeastern Men's Basketball Wins In A Shoot Out Over Rival Western Nebraska Community College 111-100

In a fiercely contested regular season Region IX basketball game, the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen emerged victorious against the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars with a final score of 111-100. The game, held at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on March 1, 2025, was not just a display of skillful basketball but also a celebration of Sophomore Night, honoring the contributions of second-year players.

Ryder McConnell, who was commended as the DDC Player of the Contest, led the Plainsmen with 21 points, four rebounds, and four steals. His performance was a critical factor in the team's success. Supporting him were Quis Davis with a near triple-double of 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists, and Noah Adamczyk who also scored 16 points and contributed 6 assists. Owen Wright added 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Keziah Williams contributed 15 points and 5 assists. The contributions from Kaamil Domingo and Justin Sapoi were also vital, reinforcing the team's depth and skill.

Coach Trenkle emphasized the importance of free throws in his post-game remarks, stating, "Free Throws are very crucial towards the end of the season, and we need to continue to make them if we want to win big games."
