Softball Takes Both Games From Camden; Jillian Fay Hits Two Homers

Blackwood, NJ - Brookdale softball took two games from the Camden County College Cougars with scores of 12-8, 17-11, to improve their record to 23-7. Sophomore shortstop, Jillian Fay, cranked two moon shots for two RBI's while adding a triple and a double in her 4-for-5 at bats in game-one.

Sophomore center fielder, Jaylen Campbell, tallied three RBI's, including a double, from her 3-for-5 trips to the plate as sophomore catcher, Jessica Fay, hit-3-for-4 with a double for an RBI, and sophomore first baseman, Audra Lowe, added an RBI as well. Winning pitcher, Jules Hart (13-3), went 5.0 innings with five strikeouts, then freshman, Jadeyn Pavlik stepped in for 2.0 innings with three strikeouts for the save. 

In game-two, it was Pavlik (8-6) with the win in the circle after 3.0 innings and strikeouts, and Hart with the save in 4.0 innings and eight strikeouts. Campbell gathered six RBI's on the day after batting 2-for-3 in the 17-11 win as Lowe blasted two triples for three RBI's, and freshman left fielder, Carmela Esposito, chalked up another three RBI's as well; both went 3-for-5. Freshman second baseman, Mya Bonilla, and freshman, Emma Zazzarino, posted two RBI's to assist the Blues in the win.

Brookdale heads to Toms River, NJ, next to play against the Ocean County College Vikings on Thursday, April 17th, beginning at 3:30pm.
