Delta College Falls to Bay College, 97-75, in Road Matchup
Escanaba, MI – February 22, 2025 – The Delta College Pioneers fought hard but came up short against Bay College, suffering a 97-75 defeat on Saturday afternoon. Despite a stellar performance from Evan Booker, Delta struggled to contain Bay College's offensive firepower.
First Half: Delta Battles but Trails Early
Delta College started the game with intensity, led by Booker's aggressive scoring. However, Bay College's sharp perimeter shooting and strong rebounding gave them a 43-33 lead at halftime. Delta struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 20% of their three-point attempts, and missed key opportunities at the free-throw line.
Booker was the offensive standout for Delta, scoring a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Jaylen Carthan provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, but the Pioneers couldn't keep up with Bay's efficient shooting.
Second Half: Delta Unable to Close the Gap
Delta College attempted to rally in the second half, but Bay College's depth and efficiency proved too much to overcome. The Norse outscored Delta 54-42 after the break, pulling away behind a strong team effort. Bay's ability to dominate the boards, out-rebounding Delta 41-25, limited second-chance opportunities for the Pioneers.
Despite strong efforts from Booker and Carthan, Delta's defense struggled to contain Bay College's balanced attack. Jayden Hackett contributed eight points, but the team couldn't find enough stops to mount a comeback.
