The No. 3 Thunderbirds thrashed Otero College 94-37 before Thanksgiving break to move to 10-0 on the season.
Redshirt freshman forward Emma Najjuma was unstoppable from the floor scoring a career-high 23 points, while grabbed a career high in rebounds with 20. The performance is No. 3 all-time and is just two shy of the school record.
NMJC was without star forward Pania Davis who sat out during Saturday afternoon's game.
The first quarter left a little to be desired from NMJC as they were only in front by six points, 21-15.
The second quarter was much more favorable to the Thunderbirds with NMJC outscoring the Rattlers 22-12 in the quarter to extend their lead to 16 points, 43-27.
The third quarter was all NMJC with the T-Birds scoring 27 points and the Rattlers only mustering five points in the quarter to make the score 70-32 after the third period. The fourth quarter was much of the same for NMJC. They allowed five points once again and scored 24 to defeat the Rattlers by 57 points, 94-37.
Sophomore guard Nuria Estrade went 5-of-9 from the 3-point land and finished with a career-high 25 points in the win.
Forward Amyah Sutton registered nine rebounds. Selenay Tanik finished with a career-high nine points and a career-high seven rebounds. Jada Graves finished with eight points, seven assists, and six rebounds in the game.
The T-Birds shot 30-for-78 (38.5%) from the field, 9-for-32 (28.1%) from the 3-point line, and 25-of-32 (78.1%) from the charity stripe. The Thunderbirds forced 24 turnovers and held the Rattlers to 27.3% from the field and 25.9% from three-point land.
The No. 3 Thunderbirds will take a week off and then face Cisco College Monday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. MST.
