The Trojans win 64-38 over the Pirates in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - On Thursday night, the Colby Trojans Women's basketball program picked up a critical Jayhawk conference road win at Independence Community College 64-38. With the victory, Colby improved to 12-7 overall and is now 7-6 in the KJCCC.  

The Trojans got off to an energetic start, scoring points early and allowing their always-tough team defense to set the tone. The 18-4 first-quarter score was all they needed to win the game, and the rest of the night was on par with the start.  

"It was great to see how enthusiastic we were to start the game and found our offensive grove early.  I've been proud of our team defense all season, and tonight was more of the same.   Several players contributed in different stretches as we put together several runs in the game.  Our players did a good job during the bye week to prepare for round two of conference play. " added Coach Spence. 

The Trojans return to action on Saturday, January 25th, at nationally ranked Coffeyville Community College at 2 PM CT.
