Jayhawks Get Back to Winning Ways at Finger Lakes CC

CANANDAIGUA, NY - After a pair of tough losses to nationally ranked SUNY Niagara ended the Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team's winning ways after taking ten of eleven, the ladies bounced back with a 57-50 win at Finger Lakes Community College Wednesday night.

It was a low-scoring affair, but JCC still had a pair of sophomores hit double digits, with Courtney Martin and Myla Truitt leading the way at 12 points each.

Another pair of sophomores were tops in rebounds, as Jennica Berens pulled in 12, while Martin added eight.

Berens and Truitt led the way in steals with six and five, respectively.

It's a good thing the defense stepped up for the Jayhawks; on offense, JCC shot just 32.9% (26 of 79) and 1 of 14 from three.

The win moves JCC to 16-5 on the year.

Jamestown finishes the regular season on Saturday, February 22nd, at 1:00 PM with a league game at Monroe Community College.
