The Sharks came out strong, dominating the first quarter with a 34-21 lead behind their high-energy offense and rebounding efforts. However, Hillsborough responded in the second and third quarters, closing the gap and setting the stage for a tightly contested finish. Both teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, but neither could gain separation, forcing the game into overtime. In the extra period, Hillsborough capitalized on key possessions and outscored Miami Dade 15-10 to secure the win.
Despite the loss, several Sharks delivered standout performances. Kiara Harris led the way with 27 points, knocking down nine three-pointers to keep MDC's offense rolling. Cleaira Peterson dominated the paint with a monster double-double, recording 24 points and 21 rebounds. Shameir Quimby was equally impactful, contributing 22 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists. Jazmyne Bynum filled the stat sheet with a triple-double, tallying 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists while also adding four steals.
