Glen Oaks women's basketball team falls at Ancilla
Chargers remain in second place in MCCAA Western Conference.
The Glen Oaks Community College women's basketball team traveled to Marian University's Ancilla College Saturday and were defeated 75-44 by the Chargers, who currently sit in second place in the MCCAA Western Conference with a 22-2 overall record and 8-1 league mark.
The Vikings trailed 26-14 at halftime and the Chargers saved their best offense over the final two quarters to pull away.
Ancilla shot 35 percent from the 3-point line (7-for-20) and limited Glen Oaks to 15.8 percent from behind the arc (3-for-19). Kennedy Lockett led the Vikings with 11 points and Kulayjah Weller was next in line with eight. Both Jordyn Partee and Kaytlin Smith finished with six, Jayla Parker-Vincent chipped in five and Kambrya Zilm and Tracy Ackley scored four apiece.
Ackley grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and Weller and Smith both had eight boards. Zilm paced the Vikings with three assists.
Glen Oaks slipped to 5-17 overall and 1-8 in the MCCAA's Western Conference.
