Jacks Fall to Dawson on Sophomore Night

After giving up a 22-0 run to open the game the Lumberjack Men's Basketball team couldn't mount a comeback against nationally ranked Dawson Community College falling by a final score of 111-75.

The Bucs who cam into the game ranked 22nd in the latest NJCAA poll released Monday afternoon gave the Jacks trouble on the defensive end of the floor and jumped out to a 22-0 lead. The Jacks eventually settled in but struggled to cut into the DCC lead. At the half the Bucs led 63-39. Jalen Blanchard paced DCB with 10 points. After committing 15 turnovers in the first half the Jacks did a better job in the second half only committing six. However, the margin was too much to overcome, and Dawson would take the game by a final score of 111-75.

Blanchard led two Jacks in double figures and all scorers with 24 points. Max Morgan also finished in double figures with 12. Seth Amunrud led Dawson with 18 points.

DCB finishes the regular season 16-14 overall and 3-11. The Jacks travel to the Minneapolis area for the Region tournament. The Jacks will play Dakota County Technical College on Saturday. Game time is set for 3:00p.m. The winner will play in the region championship the following day.
