The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks defeated Grace University JV at Muskegon on Friday November 8th, 83-66. The Jayhawks brought intensity early on the defensive side of the ball, holding Grace JV to only eight points in the first ten minutes of the game. Despite a slow start Grace JV did not go away, trailing just 37-26 at the end of the 1st half.
But the Jayhawks found more success offensively in the second half, scoring from inside and outside the arc. Jayhawks Sophomore Darius Williams conducted the offense, scoring 14 points and dishing out eight assists. Sophomores Kevon Washington and Joe Russau both finished with a game high 16, and Freshman Lamarkis Graham provided scoring for the Jayhawks in the 2nd half off the bench. Graham finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in just 20 minutes of play.
The Jayhawks kept Grace University JV at bay in the second half and led for all 20 minutes of play to secure their 17-point victory. The Jayhawks move to 2-0 on the season
