Game 1:
Arkansas State Mid-South Come Up Short Against Rock Valley College
Arkansas State Mid-South lost to Rock Valley College 5-2 on Wednesday.
Arkansas State Mid-South were the first to get on the board in the first when Matthew Dutton homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Rock Valley College captured the lead, 5-2, in the top of the seventh when Johnson homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Giddley drew a walk, scoring one run.
Lei earned the win for Rock Valley College. The hurler gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking none. Max Bayne took the loss for Arkansas State Mid-South. The right-handed pitcher went one-third of an inning, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Kaleb Tejada led things off on the bump for Arkansas State Mid-South. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking three.
Dutton provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Arkansas State Mid-South with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Rock Valley College scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Thondson hit a grand slam to left field, and Wiese doubled, scoring one run.
Huber earned the win for Rock Valley College. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none. Isaiah Carrasco took the loss for Arkansas State Mid-South. The righty went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking four.
Colton Coleman, Matthew Dutton, Bobby Clifton, and Cohen Jorgensen each collected one hit for Arkansas State Mid-South. Arkansas State Mid-South turned one double play in the game.
