Rangers Crush Texas Reds 13-3 Behind Explosive First Inning

RANGER, Texas — Ranger College's baseball team set the tone with a huge first inning, defeating the Texas Reds Post Grad 13-3 on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The Rangers scored nine runs in the opening frame, highlighted by a passed ball that brought in one run, a triple by Michael Lozano that scored two, a walk by Koen Piepkorn that added another, and an error that plated one more. Andrew Perez and Thomas Barnhart each singled, driving in two and one run, respectively.

The Rangers tacked on three more runs in the second inning, as Piepkorn reached on a fielder's choice and Jeremiah Torres doubled, bringing the score to 12-0.

The Reds responded with two runs in the third, but the Rangers answered with one more in the fourth. The Reds added one run in the fifth, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit as Ranger College secured the 13-3 win.

Jeremiah Torres, Andrew Perez, and Michael Lozano each drove in two runs for the Rangers. Perez led the team with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate, while Sean Gardiner drew three walks. The Rangers also totaled nine walks and four stolen bases.
