The eighth-ranked McLennan women obliterated the Hill Lady Rebels 73-3 this afternoon in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play at The Highlands.
It was all McLennan from the opening tip. The quad opened on a 2-0 run with a layup and jumper by Tajenae Gooden. A Kaley O'Neal put the Lady Rebels on the board with 8:39 to go in the first. McLennan responded with back-to-back buckets from Danai Lewis and Jalayah Ingram to go up by five, 8-3. McLennan led 14-7 midway through the first quarter and pushed the lead to 13 at the end of the period, 21-8.
McLennan opend the second on a 12-2 run to lead 33-10 with five minutes to play in the first half. The squad continued to dominate and extended the lead to 27 at intermission, 47-20.
Hill was completely cold in the third quarter, playing the entire period without scoring a point. McLennan scored 13 in the frame to lead by 40, 60-20. The fourth quarter was much the same. Hill found some offense, scoring 15 in the quarter but the game was already firmly out of reach.
Jalayah Ingram led McLennan with 24 points, and Tajenae Gooden added 11.
