The Southwestern Spartans men's basketball team stunned the nationally ranked NIACC Trojans with a 69-65 victory at home, improving to 10-12 overall and 4-6 in ICCAC play.

The Spartans started strong, building a 44-30 lead at halftime, and held off a determined second-half rally by the Trojans. The win was powered by an incredible team effort and standout individual performances.

Key Performers:

• Kael Jones: 15 points, a jaw-dropping 23 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocks, and 3 assists.
• Rickey Loftin: 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
• James Braddy: 10 points and 4 assists.
• Don Fontenot: 10 points and 2 rebounds.

Coach Darryl Fletcher's Thoughts:
"This was a very good win for this team. We've been pushing them to rebound and guard better, and tonight we saw that take shape. Kael Jones was a monster today. We still have mental mistakes to clean up, but we're grinding, and we're getting there."

The Spartans demonstrated resilience and grit, out-rebounding NIACC 39-23 and shooting 81% from the free-throw line. This is the kind of victory that can energize the team heading into the latter part of conference play.
