Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College Mighty Oaks softball team split their double header with the Jersey Blues of Brookdale Community College. With the split the Might Oaks are 7-3 on the season.
Game 1
The Mighty Oaks fell to Brookdale 10-5 in the first game of the double header. The Salem offense was led by sophomore Callie Rozak who hit team high third home run of the season. Jocelyn Melendez went 1 for 3 with an run scored. Jill Robinson took the loss for the Mighty Oaks pitching a complete game.
Game 2
Salem rebounded in the nightcap taking the game 4-3. Ella Hayes had a multi-hit game foing 2 for 4 for the Mighty Oaks. Mendez continued to contribute for SCC going 1 for 3 and driving in a run. Rozak went a for 4 with and RBI and a run scored. Raegan Wilson picked up the win for Salem pitching a complete game allowing only 2 earned runs.
Up next for the Mighty Oaks is Region opponent Delaware Tech Community College on Sunday when they travel to DTCC for a double header. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00.
