
FULTON, MS - Itawamba Community College secured an impressive 90-71 victory over Shelton State in their latest matchup, showing dominant performance on both ends of the court.
Marcel Bridges posted 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He led a well-rounded offensive effort from the team, alongside AJ Dent (14 points) and Damarion Winston (15 points), both contributing key shots and assists. Winston also went 8-9 from the free-throw line.
The Indians' depth played a crucial role, as several players made important contributions off the bench. James Turner scored 11 points in just 17 minutes, hitting a pair of three-pointers. Dayveun Anderson's perimeter shooting was sharp, knocking down 3 of 5 from beyond the arc for 15 points.
Defensively, Itawamba excelled at controlling the glass with a 31-29 rebounding edge, and they held Shelton State to just 36.4% shooting from the floor.
As the second half unfolded, Itawamba maintained their lead and steadily pulled away, finishing with a comfortable 19-point win.
The Indians finish the 2024 half of the season with a 12-2 record.
