Ausley’s Perfection Leads Greenjays to Dominant Victory
JACKSON, TENN. – The Greenjays soared to another resounding conference win, defeating Cleveland State Community College 88-60 on Saturday inside The Nest. Sophomore Nehemiah Ausley was nothing short of spectacular, delivering a flawless performance to lead the charge on NEYO DAY.
Ausley shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, including 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, showcasing his all-around offensive efficiency. In just 24 minutes of play, he added 4 steals, making a significant impact on both ends of the court.
"We fed off Nehemiah's energy tonight," said Head Coach Cameron Cates. "He played with precision and confidence, and the team rallied around his effort."
The Greenjays took control in the second half, outscoring Cleveland State 56-32 after a competitive first half that ended 32-28. Contributions across the roster fueled the victory, with Jerry Taylor Jr. adding 9 rebounds and Blake Garner chipping in with 15 points off the bench.
The Greenjays improve to 9-9 on the season and 4-6 in conference play. They'll return to action next Saturday at 4 PM, hosting Chattanooga State inside The Nest.
