The Cyclones opened their season at the Parkland College Classic in a matchup with the nationally ranked host college. Despite a comeback, Moraine Valley lost 77-72.
It was a slow start for the Cyclones, who were down by 18 points in the first half but made a charge to get within five. However, it wasn't enough to surpass the Cobras.
Freshman Jadea Johnson led the offense with 28 points. Deniza Fuentes added 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Robin Stevenson collected 10 points while Olivia Baxa was three-for-four from the 3-point line.
