Sharks Lose By 2 Against St. Pete
The Sharks nearly pulled off a second-half comeback but ultimately fell 51-49 to St. Petersburg College in a gritty, low-scoring affair.
The game was a tale of two halves, with St. Petersburg dominating early and Miami Dade rallying late. The Titans stormed out to a commanding 35-15 lead at halftime, fueled by Brandon Davis' hot shooting. Davis finished with a game-high 21 points, knocking down five three-pointers.
Miami Dade responded with a much stronger second half, outscoring St. Pete 34-16. The Sharks' defensive pressure forced 17 turnovers, allowing them to claw their way back into contention. Jamaal Morris and Chad Anglin led the offensive charge, each scoring 11 points.
Despite winning the rebounding battle 38-42 and holding St. Pete to just 32.8% shooting, Miami Dade struggled offensively. They shot just 31.3% from the field and 14.3% from three-point range, making only 4-of-28 attempts from beyond the arc.
Late in the game, the Sharks had opportunities to tie or take the lead but couldn't capitalize at the free-throw line, finishing just 5-of-10.
Miami Dade will look to regroup next Saturday when they take on Eastern Florida at home.
