
Raiders Cap Off Dominant Weekend with 10-1 Victory Over UA Rich Mountain
YOUNGSVILLE, La. — Northwest Florida State softball cruised to a commanding 10-1 win over UA Rich Mountain on Sunday, powered by a six-run second inning.
The Raiders struck first when Sara Watson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing in the game's opening run. UA Rich Mountain responded in the bottom of the first, tying it at 1-1 after K. Daigle grounded into a fielder's choice, but Northwest Florida quickly regained control.
In the second inning, the Raiders' offense exploded. Karson McGowan delivered a three-run single, Haley Hughes followed with a two-run single, and she later came around to score on a throwing error by the Bucks' catcher.
Lule Luedke extended the lead in the fourth with an RBI single to left field. The Raiders tacked on two more runs in the fifth when Sister Arnold doubled, and Hailey Henry crossed the plate after a dropped fly ball by the Bucks' second baseman. That final run sealed the Raiders' dominant 10-1 victory.
Pitching Highlights
Mallory Baker earned the win in the circle, allowing just one run on four hits over four innings while striking out four and walking none. AJ Vineski came in for relief, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Bucks' starter, Wright, struggled, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on four hits in just 1.1 innings, with one strikeout and four walks.
Offensive Leaders
Hughes led the offensive charge with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-1 at the plate. Sister Arnold was a force offensively, going 3-for-4, while McGowan added two hits in four at-bats. Hailey Henry showcased patience at the plate, drawing two of the Raiders' six walks, and also stole two bases. The team combined for five stolen bases in total.
Up Next
The Raiders will be back on the road next week when they head to Panama City to play in the PCB JUCO Showdown. There, the Raiders will play four games Friday and Saturday against Jones College, Chattanooga State, Daytona State and Wabash Valley.
