Estherville, IA – The regular season is winding down and there are just four games left before the Region XI Tournament.

Ellsworth Community College traveled to Iowa Lakes Community College to complete the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Lakers (30-23, 10-14) took the series, winning three out of four games including 8-0 and 7-4 on Wednesday.

The Panthers have struggled with inconsistencies all season, stringing multiple hits together or playing well in back-to-back innings. The losses extend their losing skid to eight in a row and 10 out of 11.

Iowa Lakes pitcher Macy Pickett threw a five-inning perfect game at ECC's expense. She fanned one in the win. The Lakers scored eight runs on three hits and were aided by nine free bases by the ECC pitching staff (eight walks, one hit batter).

Angelica Agro took the loss in the circle allowing three hits, eight runs, walked seven and fanned three. Ella Garstang came in and walked one and struck out one in six batters faced.

The two combined for 19 hits in the second game with the hosts winning by three runs. The Panthers (16-28, 5-19) scored the first run of the game in the opening frame, before the Lakers went on top and never relinquished the lead.

ECC's offense tallied nine hits led by Alli Paulsen who was 2-4 with two doubles. Taryn Petty and Avery Sommers were also 2-4 at the dish.

Hailey Sheaffer took the loss and went four innings with nine hits, five runs and three walks. Peytin Clemensen threw the final two innings with one hit, two runs and three walks.
