Brookdale Uses Strong Second Half to Defeat Roadrunners in North Atlantic District B Opening Round Clash

No. 7 seed and host Brookdale Men's Basketball used a strong defensive effort in the second half to top No. 10 RCSJ Gloucester, 77-60, to advance in the Region 19 North Atlantic District B playoffs Saturday.

In the first half, RCSJ tied the score at 36-36 at halftime when Chris Racobaldo sank a layup with under 10 seconds remaining in the half. Hajir Davis paced the Roadrunner attack in the first half with 9 points while Racobaldo and Fred Orock contributed 8 points in the half. Guard Ace Lassiter held the early hot hand with six points in the opening moments of the game.

The Jersey Blues, who also defeated the Runners during a regular season game, 70-50, in January, will move on to play No. 1 seed Montgomery on Feb. 26 in the semifinal round.

The Runners finished the 2024-25 season with 11-an 17 overall record under second-year Coach Brandon Williams.
