Men’s Basketball Falls to Undefeated Mohawk Valley, Ending 8-Game Win Streak
Queensbury, NY –
The SUNY Adirondack men's basketball team saw their eight-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday night as they were defeated at home by the undefeated, #2-ranked Mohawk Valley Hawks, 94-75. Despite a valiant effort and strong performances from key players, the Timberwolves couldn't overcome Mohawk Valley's dominant inside play and depth.
Adirondack held strong through much of the first half, keeping the game competitive and staying within striking distance. Each time the Timberwolves attempted to make a run, Mohawk Valley answered, maintaining control through timely scoring and solid defense.
Jude Wilkins led the way for Adirondack, scoring 18 points with an impressive 16 points coming in the second half as he tried to lead the charge. Tyre Williams added 16 points along with 7 assists, and Edgardo Sanchez contributed 14 points off the bench, providing a spark for the Timberwolves. However, despite their best efforts, Adirondack struggled to match up with Mohawk Valley's standout forward, Andre Pasha. Pasha was unstoppable in the paint, posting a monster stat line of 31 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Hawks to victory.
This loss drops Adirondack's record to 13-3, but the Timberwolves are already focused on the road ahead. Next up, they'll face another top-ranked team in #6 Herkimer College on Saturday, as they look to bounce back and continue their strong season.
