Eldridge Scores Season-High 33 Points, Lady Tribs Finish 2024 With Win Over Villa Maria
Rochester, NY - Monroe Community College delivered a Visctory against Villa Maria College, securing a 95-45 victory to close out 2024.
From the get-go, Monroe set the tone, outscoring Villa Maria 28-14 in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw them extend their lead to 43-22 by halftime, as Villa Maria struggled to keep pace. The Lady Tribunes continued to dominate in the second half, tallying 21 points in the third and finishing strong with 31 in the fourth.
Mia Special from Villa Maria had a standout performance, scoring 23 points mostly from the free-throw line, where she went an impressive 18-for-26.
On the defensive end the Tribunes played with heart and tenacity, holidng Villa Maria to just 20.4% from the field overall.
On the flip side, Monroe's Zarriah Eldridge was the star of the game, lighting it up with 33 points and nailing 6 three-pointers.
Skylah Kemp and Serenity Henderson also made significant contributions with 25 and 22 points, respectively, helping their team shoot 34% from the field.
Skylah Kemp's 25 points and 17 rebounds helped her secure her 9th double-double of the season in 13 games.
