ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-8 game to visiting Howard Community College Wednesday evening in non-region action at Siegert Field.

Tyson Miller led AACC with four goals and two assists. Gavin Raspa scored two goals and assisted another. Sahil Lengade netted a goal and an assist. Evan Davidson added two assists.

Miller scored back-to-back goals as part of a three-goal Riverhawks run spanning 2:14 in the first quarter to give AACC a 3-1 lead. Howard got within one goal before Sampson edged the Riverhawks back ahead by two with his NNTH goal of the season. The Dragons potted one late in the quarter to make it 4-3 in favor of the home team.

Howard outscored AACC, 5-1, in both the second and third quarters. Lengade scored with 4:31 left in the first half, off a quick pass from X by Miller.

AACC didn't capitalize on brief two-man advantage midway through the fourth, and appeared to have turned the ball over just a few seconds into the one-man advantage. The Dragons, however, were whistled for a conduct foul, placing the ball back in the Riverhawks' possession. AACC continued to work the ball around to see Davidson find Miller for a bounce shot goal at 6:52 of the third. The Riverhawks had nine man-up opportunities in the game, yet only scored on one.

AACC scored twice in the fourth quarter, bookended by Dragons' goals. Justin Sampson picked up a failed Howard clear just inside midfield and passed ahead to Miller at the top corner, who skipped it over to Raspa at the far post for a back-handed shovel goal at 9:26. The duo reversed roles with 2:13 left as Raspa passed across the crease to Miller for a quick strike.

James Kavney won 16 of 24 faceoffs in the game and was aided on the wings by three groundballs each from Alex Del Moral and Nathan Krueger.

Parrish Fleming shouldered the loss for AACC, making six saves while allowing 12 goals. Matt Tettemer made four saves and allowed three goals in the final 19:40.

AACC looks to change its luck in a 7 p.m. home game against Herkimer on Monday, March 17.
