The Central Community College men's basketball team faced off with North Platte Community College in a Friday night thriller. The Raiders trailed by over 23 points at one point, but fought all the way back to force overtime. Despite that, the Raiders were unable to close it out in OT, giving the Knights the 96-92 win.
The first half was very one sided, with North Platte putting on a three-point barrage while CCC's threes were not falling. The Knights led at the half, 49-31. In the second half, the Raiders fought all the way back to force OT. In the extra session, the constant scoring of North Platte proved too much for CCC.
CCC's Kazadi Mukoma Jr. posted a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, both team-highs. Ethan Wiley came off the bench to score 18 points. Ronan Parker was the team leader for assists with six, adding to the team's 22 assist game.
The loss gives the Raiders a 10-15 season mark. CCC is back at the Raider Fieldhouse on Feb. 12 to host Iowa Central Community College.
