
Madison, Wis. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team fell in a heartbreaking loss to Morton on Saturday night.
The Spartans finish as the Region 4 runner-up with a 15-4-3 overall record.
Gabriel Arias scored in the sixth minute to put the Spartans up early.
Morton scored in the 11th minute to tie the game up 1-1 and the teams would stay tied through halftime.
In the 69th minute, Reyli Perez recorded a shot on goal and Oscar Jimenez scored off of the block.
A penalty was called on Elgin, and Morton scored on the penalty kick to tie up the game with three minutes remaining in regulation time.
The teams fought through overtime, but the Panthers were able to find the back of the net with just three seconds left on the clock to hand ECC the loss.
