Santa Fe drops and ends their season just short of the Citrus Conference playoffs with a 71-56 loss to St. Petersburg on Tuesday night. Santa Fe and St. Petersburg found themselves deadlocked in the conference standings when their seasons ended on Monday Night forcing a "winner take all" neutral site matchup to determine which team recieves the #6 seed in the Conference Playoffs later in the weak. The teams split their regular season series, with the Saints winning in an OT thriller at home but dropping by double-digits when they were the visitiors, and it was well known that this would be a firery game three with the season on the line.
The first half was all Titans, as they came out of the gate smothering any offence the Saints tried to generate. Santa Fe was held to just 20 points at the half, and found themselves in a 14-point hole at the break. Santa Fe battled back for much of the second half, but the early deficit was just too much to handle and ended up losing the tiebreaking game 71-56. Three Saints ended with double figure scoring nights; Mike Drayton led SF with 15 points, Predrag Panisic added 13 and Connor Morris tallied 12 of his own. Santa Fe and 1st year Coach John Ritzdorf end their season at (11-20) overall, (6-10) in the Citrus Conference.
