The Erie Community College men's and women's basketball teams competed in the Monroe Community College Classic cover the weekend with neither team able to pull off a win.
The men faced Prince George's Community College on Saturday, falling in overtime 84-81 and on Sunday the team lost to Orange County Community College 81-75. Bright spots for the Kats were David Stroud who had 22 rebounds on Saturday and added another 5 on Sunday. He put up 28 points over the two games. Olivier Ngarukiyintwari had 19 points and 25 rebounds over the weekend. Eddie Beverly led the team in total points with 29.
On the women's side, the Erie faced Prince George's CC and Monroe University College, also losing both games. The Owls defeated the Kats 109-40 while the Mustangs triumphed 99-35. Skye Lee continued her strong play for the Kats. The guard put up a total of 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Kats.
Both teams return home on Wednesday, November 20th when they host Corning Community College for a pair of games. The women tip off at 5:00 and the men start at 7:00 pm at the Flickinger Center.
