Men's Lacrosse Wins Season Opener Over Finger Lakes

The Hudson Valley men's lacrosse team opened up their season with a big win over Finger Lakes.
The Vikings set the tone early, scoring six first-quarter goals while limiting the Lakers to just one. Damien Santiago led the charge with a hat trick in the opening quarter, finishing the game with six goals. Hudson Valley continued their aggressive play, outscoring Finger Lakes in every quarter. Hudson Valley's attack was relentless, firing 43 shots compared to Finger Lakes' 19. Bryce Morin was a key contributor with six goals and two assists, while Seamus Camenga added a hat trick of his own. Romeyn Murray dished out four assists to help fuel the Vikings' offensive rhythm.
The Vikings controlled possession throughout the game, winning 21 of 28 faceoffs. They also forced 32 turnovers and scooped up 26 ground balls. Goalkeeper play was also a major factor, as the Lakers goalie was forced to make 14 saves, while Hudson Valley's Nicholas Lagitch faced minimal pressure, making just three stops on 9 shots.
The Vikings will look to build on their impressive start as they prepare for their next matchup on Wednesday, March 19th at Jefferson at 4pm.
