JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team saw their three-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of Genesee Community College, 84-74 Wednesday night. JCC started the game looking on fire from deep, with Federico Foddai knocking down back-to-back threes for a quick six-point lead. The opening onslaught didn't stop there for the Jayhawks. The freshman stopped the bleeding with a baseline drive and bucket for two of his game-high 31, and Jamestown was back up six. Jamestown held the lead the entire first half until the 39-second mark when a layup from Damont Hanton gave Genesee its first lead. The Jayhawks would go to the break trailing by three, 40-37. JCC pulled within two later in the half on a Gabriel Mastrosimone paint move that led to an and one opportunity that he knocked down. That's as close as JCC could get, with Genesee quickly opening up a 13-point advantage after that. The Jayhawks clawed until the bitter end, but couldn't get over the hump. The loss sets JCC back to 4-9 on the season. They go on the road next Tuesday to visit Cuyahoga Community College for a 7:00 tip.
