Northeastern Falls In The Final Inning Against South Mountain Community College

Plainswomen Softball fell in a heart breaker to South Mountain Community College in the final inning, 10-9. Tatiana Hunt was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Hunt had a huge offensive performance, as she went 2-3 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs, 2 runs and 1 walk. Hunt was able to homer in the first and fifth innings. Northeastern fell behind by seven runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. The Plainswomen were able to score 4 runs on two home runs and a double in the inning. 

Hunt homered to left in the first inning, which helped Northeastern tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the first. Addison Steele was able to homer in the sixth inning to center field, plating three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Plainswomen were not able to score a run in the bottom of the seventh, after SMCC was able to push across one run in the top of the seventh inning to secure the victory. 

Reagan Fehringer started the game for the Plainswomen. Fehringer gave up 10 runs (4 earned) on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out 6 and walking none. Reina Roberts, Hunt and Steele were able to secure two hits for the Plainswomen. Isabelle Bencivenga accumulated two walks in the contest. Northeastern as a team was able to obtain 5 walks in the contest. Northeastern struggled on the defensive side, committing 7 errors in the contest.
