Diaz Strikes Out 9; Bucks Run-Rule NIACC

(March 12, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - The Bucks continued their 3-game home stand this afternoon at Union Bank Field against North Iowa Area Community College. NIACC was on a road stand and heading to LSU Eunice for a 3-game series this weekend. This is the first time the Bucks and Trojans have faced off.

The Bucks jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after three innings and walked it off in the bottom of the seventh inning to get the 10-0 win in 7 innings. Ian Smith (Bismarck, AR) led the charge, offensively, with a 2 for 4 day and 4 RBIs. Both of his hits were doubles. For the second day in a row, Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) walked it off with a RBI single. He also was 2 for 4 on the day with a pair of RBIs. The Bucks had 11 hits on the day. Shelby Anders (Baton Rouge, LA) and Cody Hayes (Mildred, TX) also had multi-hit days with 3 and 2, respectively.

On the mound, it was all Ethan Diaz (Minneola, FL). The right hander pitched all 7.0 innings, giving up 0 runs on 4 hits. Diaz (2-3) struck out 9 with only 1 walk, facing 26 hitters on the afternoon. 

The Bucks will now have a few days off before taking on Region 2 East Division foe ASU Mountain Home. The doubleheader is scheduled for 2 & 4:30 pm at Bear Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
