The Lumberjack Women's Basketball team saw their three-game win streak come to an end Monday night at the hands of Williston State College by a score of 99-68.
After a tightly contested opening six minutes the Tetons had a 14-9 lead. After the media timeout WSC broke the game open with a 17-6 run to take a 31-15 lead at the first quarter. Turnovers were a problem in the second quarter as the Jacks committed 10 turnovers. At the half DCB trailed WSC 56-29. Amari Butler and Day Whitehawk led the Jacks with 8 first half points each. The Jacks came out and battled in the second half but struggled to slow down the strong offense of the Tetons. When the final buzzer sounded the Jacks fell 99-68.
Kiara Comeaux led four Jacks in double figures with 16 points, Whitehawk finished with 14, Butler added 13 and Terayna Tapija-Jones had 10. Kylie Simpson and Taylah Murtagh each had 19 for the Tetons for game high scorers.
The Jacks record falls to 10-12 overall and 2-6 inside the Mon-Dak. DCB hosts NDSCS Sunday at 1:00p.m.
