
Cougars Women’s Basketball Falls to Montgomery 88-67
The FCC Cougars women's basketball team faced a tough challenge against Montgomery College on January 11, suffering an 88-67 defeat on the road.
Frederick's offense came alive in the fourth quarter with a 32-point effort, but it was too late to overcome early struggles. Bre Lawyer led the charge for the Cougars with 23 points and seven assists. Alaysia Jemmott contributed a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Heaven Murray recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and eight steals. Despite their efforts, the Cougars were plagued by turnovers, committing 27, which led to 26 points that Montgomery capitalized on throughout the game.
The loss drops the Cougars to 3-8 overall and 2-6 in Region 20 Division II play. FCC will aim to bounce back in their next game on January 15 at 5:00 PM, when they travel to face the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans.
