Red Raven Baseball Splits Home Doubleheader vs Hutchinson

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball Team split a home doubleheader against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, losing the first game 6-2 and bouncing back to win the second game 2-0. With this split, the Red Ravens' record for 2025 stands at 8-3 for the season.

Coffeyville scored first in the game in the bottom of the first, however, Hutchinson scored runs in the third, fourth, and seventh innings to defeat the Ravens 6-2.  Coffeyville mustered five hits in the game with sophomore center fielder Eric Bacon knocking a double. Sophomore second baseman Landin Midgett and freshman right fielder Colton Ruedy each had an RBI.  Sophomore right-hander Jackson Waggoner was tagged for the loss after going five innings allowing three earned on seven hits and three strikeouts.

Coffeyville plated two runs and the Red Raven pitching staff kept the Blue Dragons from scoring to give Coffeyville the 2-0 victory in game #2.  Coffeyville belted four hits in the game with Landin Midgett and sophomore catcher Payton Burns each with an RBI.  Sophomore right-hander Easton Renn started for the Red Ravens going six innings allowing 4 hits with no earned and three strikeouts.  Freshman right-hand reliever Aiden Ruiz pitched two innings allowing no hits and no earned while striking out four.  Freshman right-hander Yale Griffiths and sophomore right-hander Caleb Peek each pitched a partial inning allowing no hits and no earned.
