
Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team came back from being down 11 points midway through the second half to beat the visiting New Rock Prep White 72-64.
After a slow start to the second half, the Eagles quickly found themselves down by double digits in the second. The Eagles were able to climb back during the half with free throws and a three-pointer from first-year Leo Etah. Emory Oxford also played hard defense to keep the opponent's scoring low.
With less than nine minutes left, first-year Jason Kim scored to tie the game at 55. A minute later, first-year Ved Desai scored two points to give Emory Oxford the lead. The team continued to score and lead by 13 points with three minutes remaining.
Etah led Emory Oxford with 26 points. He also had eight rebounds. Kim and Desai scored in the double digits with 16 and 17 points, respectively. Desai had nine rebounds.
The Eagles are now 5-4 this season.
The next game for the Eagles is against conference opponent Virginia Peninsula Community College on Saturday, Dec. 7 at home. Game time is 1 p.m.
