Miami Dade Dominates St. Petersburg College in 11-0 Shutout Victory
Miami Dade showcased its offensive firepower and dominant pitching in an 11-0 run-rule victory over St. Petersburg College. The Sharks improved to 15-1 on the season, while St. Petersburg fell to 12-10.
From the start, Miami Dade took control, scoring four runs in the first inning. Amanda Handa got things rolling with an RBI double, followed by a three-run blast from Dana Piri to give the Sharks an early 4-0 lead.
The offense continued in the second inning, capitalizing on an error by St. Petersburg's defense to plate two more runs. Miami Dade then exploded in the fourth inning, adding five runs. Ty Marie Cervantes delivered a two-run single, followed by an RBI double from Alyssa Densmore. Carmela Smith capped the inning with a two-run double, extending the lead to 11-0.
On the mound, Aimi Tohara was nearly untouchable, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just four hits, struck out four batters, and did not issue a walk to improve her record to 5-0.
With an efficient performance both offensively and defensively, Miami Dade continues its dominant season as they prepare to take on Hillsborough Community College later this weekend.
