The Chargers Men's Basketball team traveled to Lansing, Michigan, Friday afternoon to take on the host Stars. In their first meeting of the year, Marian Ancilla was down three starters and six players in total, so this time around the Chargers were attempting to split the season series with the Stars with a full roster. Marian Ancilla entered the locker room at halftime with just a 2-point deficit, but Lansing used strong shooting and a great effort on the boards to knock off the Chargers, 96-83.

Marian Ancilla was solid throughout, shooting 41% from the field, they only turned it over 8 times, and they assisted on 16 baskets. Lansing was just better this game, knocking down 57.1% of their shots from the field, half (9-18) of their shots from deep, plus they out-rebounded the Chargers by a 44-33 margin.

Charger Freshman guard Jordan Woods led the team with 32 points on 12-18 shooting and an 8-10 performance from the charity stripe. He also tallied 8 assist and 6 rebounds in defeat. Freshmen Matt King (11 points) and Davione Doty (10 points) joined Woods with double-figure scoring marks. Lansing got an impressive outing from Zander Woodruff, who poured in 41 points on the afternoon, making 15-21 shots and 5-8 from outside.

This meeting with Lansing was originally scheduled for Wednesday (2/12/25) but was rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Chargers now must turn around and play a talented Grand Rapids team in Grand Rapids this afternoon. Tip time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., as the Men's game will follow the 1:00 p.m. Women's game. Please come out and support the guys, if you are able!!
