
The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team took down the Southeast Community College Bobcats, 82-59 Dec.11 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The 82 points that the Blue Devils scored is the most all season. The second highest they put up was 79 on Nov.27 against MCC-Penn Valley in a 79-48 victory.
Bennett Peck drained six, three pointers and finished with a team-high 21 points. The only field goal she made that wasn't a three pointer was an and-one bucket. She was able to make the free throw to complete the three point play. Capri Garrett was one rebound shy of a double double as she finished the game with 18 points, nine rebounds and a season-high six blocks. Samaire Slusarek had 13 points along with six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Zoe Clark and Emma Berenguer Fernandez were the two other starters, and they combined for 19 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 31-71 from the field (43.7%), 10-27 from three-point range (37%) and 10-19 from the free-throw line (52.6%). The Bobcats shot 21-59 from the field (35.6%), 4-12 from three-point range (33.3%) and 13-25 from the free-throw line (52%).
The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against North Platte Community College at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley.
