Indians season ends in loss to No. 4 Northwest

FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College football team's season came to an end after a 43-10 loss to No. 4 Northwest Mississippi Community College on Friday.

The Rangers (8-1, 6-0 MACCC North) used a dominate second half to pull away for the victory and secure the North Division Championship.

Ty Davis (Fulton) threw for 221 yards and a touchdown with four interceptions on 20-of-39 passing. Tyran Mosely (Kosicusko) had seven catches for 69 yards, including a 37-yard touchdown reception.

Zech Pratt (Tupelo), Alex Dawkis (Columbus) and Dylan Rowsey (Rienzi) each had an interception for the Indians. Eli Burciaga (Corinth) had a 36-yard field goal.

The Indians (6-3, 4-2 MACCC North) finished tied for second in the North Division with Holmes Community College (7-2, 4-2 MACCC North) and East Mississippi Community College (6-3, 4-2 MACCC). Holmes earned a spot in the playoffs after the conference's three-way tiebreaker rules.

ICC had one of the most impressive turnarounds in program history.

After going 3-6 last season, the Indians finished 6-3 and led the conference in turnovers forced, interceptions, sacks, fumble recoveries and defensive touchdowns. They were also the only program in the state to have two players earn National Junior College Athletic Athletics (NJCAA) Defensive Players of the Week.
