Kirkwood Wins First Round of Regionals

Cedar Rapids, IA- The #1 seed in the ICCAC Regional Tournament, the Kirkwood Eagles, hosted the #8 seed, the Iowa Lakes Lakers, in first round action inside Johnson Hall on Wednesday night. With a win, Kirkwood would be hosting the semi-finals and finals of the regional tournament. 

The Eagles would continue their regular season sucesss into the post-season, winning the match with set scores of -17, -13, and -14.  Lily VanSeveren would pace Kirkwood's defense as she has done all season with 15 digs in three sets. Kaci Johnson would add another double-double to her resume with 10 kills and 17 assists to go with her 9 digs. Marissa Cahoy would be right behind her with 8 kills on 20 total attempts. 

The Eagles now play DMACC on Saturday afternoon at 1pm in Johnson Hall. The winner will advance to the ICCAC Regional Tournament final where they will play the winner of Northeast and Iowa Central.
