
FCC Women’s Basketball Earns Gritty Win Over Anne Arundel
Frederick Cougars women's basketball fought hard to secure a 57-49 victory over Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks Club Team, snapping their losing streak and improving to 4-10 on the season. The Cougars came out strong in the first half, building a lead with a 12-point second quarter, and held off a late push from the Riverhawks to close out the game at home.
Bre Lawyer put on a show, dropping 24 points, leading the offensive charge, and adding five rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Alaysia Jemmott was a force in the paint, grabbing 12 rebounds while adding 10 points for a double-double. Heaven Murray contributed across the board with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, helping FCC control the tempo. The Cougars dominated on the glass, pulling down 40 total rebounds and showing their defensive force with 10 steals.
With this hard-fought win, FCC looks to build momentum as they prepare to take on Howard Community College at home on February 1 at 12:00 PM.
